  Stone Sour and Pearl Jam

Hey all,

Been surfing around listening to some of you guys on here. Thought I'd post a few of my own for critique.

FYI......mid 20's, been playing a little over 3 yrs, completely self taught.

These aren't perfect, just a couple of recordings I did on my acoustic with my computer mic. I'm not the best singer in the world either....but who is right?

Oh, there is an explicative in the Stone Sour song..the "s" word.

Hey, welcome and good first uploads!

Your sense of rhythm and speeding up and slowing down where needed is really good, and you also seem to know your chords and the changes between them are smooth.

I would check the tuning on your acoustic - I think it may be out a little (I nitpick on this issue to a lot of members, so take it for what it's worth!). I find in the summer weather, with heat, humidity, AC, etc, my guitars can go in and out of tune at a moments notice, so I have a tuner nearby and tune before every recording, even if I just tuned a few minutes ago. It will really make a big difference!

Good work!

Jim

Hi Dsus4. Interesting vocals. With more experience and the right tunes your voice is going to come across well.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Good advice too Jim, I probably need to retune more often. I've got an electronic tuner so that should be pretty easy for me. Those recordings are from a couple of weeks ago, and I had some old and dull strings on then, so that may have something to do with the sound too. Of course, I've since purchased and restrung.
