  Wish You Were Here Solo

I worked on a lesson from this page a long time ago:
http://www.guitarnoise.com/article.php?id=422
Thought I would post up my first try recording it.
I recorded the backing track first and then tried to mix them together using audacity.
I think my timing is a little off and I probably need to listen to the song again so I can get the feel down.
I thought the timing was right for a Floyd tune.
BTW, I am going to buy a real mic soon. This cheap one that came with the computer is garbage for recording.

That little mic sure sucks the brightness out of the tone doesn't it.That is gonna sound sweet with a good mic.

Nice job summers! That was the first song that I learned from the same lesson and it sounded great. I found a backing track recently and was going to take another run at recording it again. I posted it here a while back playing my 12 string. Keep it up!

Nice one mhdsummers. I've fiddled around with the beginning part of that song. Nice link to the instructional. Maybe I can get more of it down now. I went and listened to your version too CT. That 12 string sounds really good. Is the strumming part in that lesson? I didn't really look that close. I hope so.

If I get anything presentable going, I'll post too.

Keep up the good work! That solo, like all of Gilmore's work is deceptive. Sounds very easy to play and note-wise it is. But the feel and timing- yikes!

Hey- I may play slow, but I sure am imprecise!

Good job summers!

I have a cheapo mic too, so I know how you feel...

I think it came through pretty well regardless!

Hi Fly,

The lesson is broken up in two parts, the first teaches the strumming.

The second part teaches the solo. Both are great practice on a great song!

I still love playing that song, so you won't get bored of it and lots of people like that tune so it's a good one!

I tried that lesson too and ended up with a skeleton version of the intro and strum the rest of the song, I didn't sing loud enough so its not worth posting till I do it again. Thats a good lesson but its time consuming to try and follow through on it exactly. You could try your own simple version and work from there, but thats up too you, just a thought. What you got though sounds good
