Real nice JC! Nice groove you have going on there.

B/Bm was probably going to be the next key of blues I was going to do, so I'll probably be joining you in this key in a few days - probably this weekend when I get a chance to set up the recording stuff. I have a backing track in B that I was going to use, but if you should want to post the one you used for this, I'd love to have a go over it.

Great job - thanks for the Blues!!!

Jim

Nicely done GuitarJim and thanks for posting the BT. Enjoyed your playing, that was a very smooth groove.

Jim's Bm take for the Circle of Blues #3

I'm not sure whether to post this take of mine over this Bm backing track in this thread or in my next "Circle of Blues" thread, since going in chromatic order, B was going to be this weekends key for me anyway (last weekend I did A and Bb). I guess I'll post it here and then also make a Circle #3 thread just so that when all the keys are done, all the threads belonging to the Circle can be found easily and hopefully summarized by links in a single thread.

Thanks JC for a cool Bm backing track! Here's my take over it:

Jim

Good job. Well played. I really liked the feel and the tone. What model of guitar did you use. I used my Epiphone Dot on that take. It is a less expensive Gibson 335.

Thanks JC!

I used my Fender Eric Clapton signature strat on that take - and I used a Digitech Clapton Crossroads effects pedal going into a Digitech RP80 effects processor to help fill out the tone. But the tone coming straight from the strat is pretty good, as it's got noiseless pickups, TBX circuitry and Mid-boost (0-25 db overdrive) built in, as per Clapton's specs. Supposedly the strat he plays is built to the same specs - only he gets the master-builders to make his perfect....

I've been working a lot lately to get a better recorded tone and I really appreciate that you noticed it!

Great playing both of you guys. I'm looking forward to being able to jam over a blues track like this. Give it time. I basically know the blues scale in one position, so I need to get familiar with moving up and down the neck a bit. Not to mention keeping in tempo.

GuitarJim, I have a Dot also and I love it. What kind of pedal were you using to get your tone?

Thanks Joe and Fly!

That's right Fly - it will come with time and practice. The tempo part is probably the more challenging -- at least it was/is for me.

Good job Jim. Some nice, accurate bends and spontaneous licks in there.
