Test recording - how does the guitar sound on your system?

Hi guys
This is just a test, and I would appreciate some feedback on the tone. The playing was just me mucking around on an idea that popped into my head when I was positioning the mic.
For this I used the pickup and a mic, and blended the two together. It sounds OK on my system, but I would like to know how it sounds on yours. Speaker response varies so much.
The guitar was recorded without EQ or compression, and nothing was added after I mixed it down.
Thanks for your help.

It sounds good to me. It has a bit of that "pickup" sound, but not much.

Hey scotty!

It sounds really good to me! Nice and crisp and clear, with great bass.

I'm using headphones at work, just as a point of reference for you.

Ditto- the sound is really good for being unprocessed and that is some nice playing! That something you made up or are there TABS out there for it?

I think using the pickup gives the tone a little more bite in a positive way. I have found that you have to watch out for phase problems when using that technique, but to me it sure sounds good.

Hey- I may play slow, but I sure am imprecise!

I don't know if this can be adjusted to work for acoustic. Use a shure57 to mike the guitar or amp and a condenser mike out in the room to catch how the room shapes the sound.

hey thanks
It is just something I made up. I have been thinking about a melody and some lyrics but nothing worthwhile has come along yet.

I think that can work very well in a good sounding room. Tommy Emmanuel records with 4 mics and the pickup.
My room however sounds awful!
I have moved my recording setup downstairs and onto the other side of my townhouse to try and get away from my neighbours complaints. Acoustic guitar isn;t that loud anyway, especially if played with the fingers, so there shouldn't be a problem. My sax is another story.
A friend of mine has a couple of rooms in her house that sound great. Lots of timber, the reflections sound wonderful there. At the moment I am just using a close micing technique to avoid the room, though I am interested in this product at the moment http://www.ambertech.com.au/feature.php?articleID=622. I have called them and asked for a demo model to be sent to the music shop I work for. That could help a lot.
I am going to try recording again with a second mic on the guitar as well, and then mix the three sounds together and see how that goes.
Thanks very much for your responses.
