You need to smooth out the transitions. You started out with the treble part too soft. Your bass line was drowning them out. You got more of a balance halfway through though. Very tough tune. You are doing very well. Keep at it.

Many thnx for the advice AT, im finding the transition from F#m to B7 difficult for some reason, i can change smoothly if i strum the 2 chords but when it comes to picking them its a different story, ill keep going at it and smooth out the changes and work on the treble at the beginning, many thnx once again

Hey Joe!
I think you did a real good job playing this - finger picking can be hard stuff, and when you add in more difficult chord changes in addition to picking...well, it makes it tougher to play. You did well and AT gave you good advice on the balance.

Many thnx, Dawn, Tom and Jim. Got a lot of work to get this one right. I find that the chords of chord parts are easy strumming but for some reason the coordination seems to go when i try to pick with the more difficult changes, ill keep the practise up and hopefully it will come in time, thnx again

You are a brave man tackling James Taylor and finger picking Joe Strummer! I agree with D-Dawn that it got smoother and with more flow later into your recording. Good effort! I'm climbing the same fingerstyle hill and I can tell you it ain't easy for me!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
