An attempt at a Celtic sounding piece

Played in Open D. This was also recorded a long time ago, same time as that Jerry Reed influenced piece I posted earlier. I recorded it into a friend's PC that only had a soundblaster card onboard, so it is has a bit more noise than I would like.

Another great one Scotty!
Is it part of your technique in this style to provide more emphasis to one of the strings / notes? There was one ringing out more clearly and loudly than the others. It acts as as steady repeating beat. I was trying to get one of these types of songs down, and I found I was doing the same thing, although I wasn't really intending to. Maybe my ear wanted to hear it that way?

Thanks very much for listening guys
Todd, I did intend to play that string a little louder, but at times it was probably not intended. I find it very hard recording with a mic by myself. I try and guess the best spot for it to be placed, and then go from there. I only used a mic on these, and from memory ( it was a long time ago) I placed it behind the bridge.
Sometimes we do things we don't intend to, and it can be a great result...or not. I have found I have changed the way I play Classical Gas in the chorus section, and I am not happy with the bass line I am playing now. I have done it so many times it is something that I do without thinking. I was showing someone else how to play it recently and I realised it had wandered off from where it had been once.
Were you happy with your results?
At the end of the day that is all that matters.

You're blowing me away this morning Scotty!

Super playing again! I love your picking style and use of harmonics...

Have you recorded Classical Gas here for us to hear? I love that piece and I'd be happy to hear your rendition of it!!!

Thanks guys, and no I have never recorded Classical Gas Jim.
If you would like I will give it a shot in the near future.
I haven't forgotten about getting you some blues tracks either, just had a very hectic few days.
I also have some EC tracks if you would like those, and one for Ren and Stimpy!

Well Scotty.... I'd love it if you could/would record Classical Gas sometime!

Take your time on the blues track - I know all about hectic days...

I'd love some EC tracks - how big are they? Maybe I can send you my email address by PM and you could send me one to see if my email can handle it. Actually, I just got a gmail acct - that can take large attachments, can't it?

Jim

Thanks for the tips Scotty. And I think you are right, if you are happy with it, well then, heck, the rest of the world can have it's own opinion! Fortunately for you, the rest of the world thinks your stuff is amazing too!
