  Pretending to be Jerry Reed

I just found this on a CD this morning from some recordings I made a long time ago.
I recorded this on my Maton with a Rode NT3 mic, which was one of two mics I owned at that time. The other was a Shure SM58.
I love this style but I never know how to develop it from here. It seems I get stuck in a riff and then a B section, and can repeat between those endlessly. I would like to develop some ideas in this style into full pieces - any ideas?

Hey Scotty!

I'm not one to give advice about song construction, as I'm struggling with that myself - but that's some wicked great picking and overall playing!!!

The recording is great too - overall I'm really glad you found this gem. I can't find any fault with it pal!

Great, great work!

Jim

Very nice scotty. No ideas for you I'm afraid, I'd just love to be able to get as far as you did with that picking. Top job!

Hey Scotty,
That sounded great to my ears! I liked being able to hear the sounds of your fingers moving and sliding around the fretboard. That adds an element to your playing in this style. Well done!

That was some good playing. The only suggestion I can think of is another track maybe while repeating what ya got, but this is just beginner advice

Some great playing Scotty. I'm not much good at song construction either but how about you from part B back to part A, but have part A in a different key this time, just to give it a lift. Repeat part A but perhaps make a few changes here and there e.g. the bass lines in part A that were ascending, this time make them descending. Towards the end of part A make it double-time before ending.
