♥ A couple from me ♥
Ok ...after much poking and proding I've broken down and recorded a couple of tunes....not perfect by any means (as you will hear!) but I get a bit nervous recording...yes I'm silly like that.
I will apologize ahead of time for getting a bit "windy" with Blackbird, but its fun to play and I always seem to do a bit better with it as I go along. (need to listen to the recording more to play it in correct order...)
The other piece (untitled) is something that just decided it wanted to be played and I am still working on it so be kind! LOL I know its short and sweet.
Please ignore the "popping" noises...dunno how they got there (when I converted to MP3)
I recorded this with a tiny mic clipped right to the sound hole...but its not too bad...ok I'm gonna go hide for a bit....
*Gasp* I'm actually hitting the "post" button!!!
Dawn
Ok Misty2u!! Your turn!! LMAO

No reason to hide Dawn. I am listening to blackbird while I type this. Well done. Clean playing and smooth changes.
Your own tune is great. I love it. I will look forward to hearing the finished piece. Are you thinking of putting lyrics to it?

Beautiful playing Dawn!
Great picking and tone, and your chords are flawless.
The little recording hiccups/pops are the only thing I notice that's not right-on, and that has nothing to do with your playing...which is great!
Congrats!!!

Nice playing D-Dawn. Is this your first post? No need to hide...just keep them coming. You've given me encouragement to go out and buy a mike and maybe, just maybe I'll get over my stage fright and do the same. But first have to get clean finger picking like you have.

Thanks Sano!
This is my first post with recordings attached. I hear such nice stuff coming from others here that it was a bit intimidating! Especially posting something that I've come up with on my own....
.....don't know what exactly I was afraid of other than a "you stink" kind of comment! LOL
BTW My mic cost me a whole $8 at Radio Shack...hows that for low tech?!
I'm working on Jenny Wren today so hopefully that will be my next post (in another week or so that is!!)

Beautiful playing Dawn. Both pieces are beautiful, but I particularly like your own.
You show lovely style and lots of potential. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Dawn,
Nice job on both tunes! Now that you've broken through, you should keep on postin' and a postin'! Maybe one day that little tune of yours can make it to GFB&B Radio!

I think the original sounds nice! I love hearing others ideas and not an "interpretation" of something that has been already done. (NO offense meant to anyone...at all!)
That popping sounds like there was something else running when you were converting the file (anti-virus, typing a letter, etc?) I have heard that before on my sisters recordings, but she will not listen to her little bro (go figure)
Anyway, nice playing, I'll catch up soon!

Thanks again guys! (Everyone who commented)
Wow! Such encouragement!!
I know my anti-virus is always running so maybe thats what it was...I was afraid to touch the keyboard after the first time (thinking that might have been it) Next time I'll try to have everything else shut down
As far as the "original" goes...it wasn't planned and just sort of happened...I liked the sound of it and kept adding to it...I will be sure to re-post it when I feel its finished.

No need to hide D-Dawn ... you're doing great. Isn't Blackbird fun to play? It's hard to end it, you just want to keep playing it and playing it!
I especially like the second piece, and the fact that you're exploring, experimenting, inventing. Once you get to know the related chords of the key, there's nothing more therapeutic than picking your way through them, changing sequences ... listening to the way they relate, how they lead, resolve ... keep it up, you're a natural. Now let's hear more!
