Me Again
A little while ago( days ) Les said something along the lines what would be fun is to take the chords as they where , and play with the rhymn and speed to get the feel of them .
Well I did that Key of C - I have used G -Em - Am- C ( and I put my pinky on the bottom string does that make it C7 or something else ?
Anyway I had fun hope it isnt too bad to listen to ...

Hey Hilch, for some people strumming is very difficult, but you certainly seem to have it mastered, well done. If you put your pinky on the 3rd fret of the thinnest string then that is still C Major, just a different voicing. C7 would be putting your pinky on the 3rd fret of the 3rd string, the G string.

Hey Hilch!
Your strumming is way better these days! Did you follow Kirk's lessons or just get there by practicing on your own? Really a great improvement -- and a nice chord progression.
Since I have so much trouble myself getting recording levels right and now pay a lot more attention to that when listening, I think that the level was a bit too high in the louder sections - there is some distortion in playback (at least on my system) - so watch the recording level thingy to be sure it doesn't hit the "red" at the top end (or whatever color is used - it just shouldn't peg way at the top).
And I'm not sure if this is because of the levels or not, but the low string sounded a bit out of tune to me. Check your tuning and if you are in tune, then it's the recording making it sound that way, and if it is out of tune then, well then it's out of tune! I found that in the summer, in a room with AC that can blow on or near the guitar, it can go in and out of tune real, real fast. I don't know if you're recording in a situation like that, but when I was recording Friday, I had a window AC unit that was cycling on and off as I was recording and my guitar literally needed retuning after each AC cycle! I ended up turning off the AC and just being hot until I finished recording. Guitars can be real finicky to changes in heat and humidity!
I just realized you're in Australia and it's the middle of winter there, isn't it? So, you probably have heat on -- but the humidity can flucuate a lot in your area, can't it? Just as an "international" aside, I have dual US-Irish citizenship, but I've ever been to Ireland.... I have been to England and Italy and Switzerland, but never to my second "home" And never to Australia, but I'd love to go there some day!
But your playing is really improving and your strumming is much, much better!!!

I only said it because I THINK ( looking over his shoulder where is she ) Trudy the lovely wife , doesn't like the guitar that much .
But one day when I can play that very romantic song , " Take that ribbon from your hair , shake it loose and let it fall ,"
I'll play it for her and everything will be rosey again
Talk about a dreamer hey .......
24 years of marriage I think Trudy might know me a little better

Hey Hilch,
Coming along nicely. Maybe you can try to learn Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight. That should have your wife gazing longingly at you in no time. Pretty easy to play a stripped down version, and it's all in the chord families you are playing now. G, D, C, EM

Just don't blame me for anything that happens 9 months from now after a long Aussie winter!

Hey Hilch,
I just play a D. Here's a better link to an easier tab.
http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/ww...=tab&id=279928
Also, here's a link to a handy dandy chord finder. There are lots of these on the web but I find this one easy to use. You just click on the chord name and the diagram pops up.

Enjoy! If you can master Wonderful Tonight, there's a wedding gig out there waiting for you!
If you search a bit in these threads, you and also find NoCat's version that is amazingly spot on. Not sure if this works, but this should take you there.
I must have caught Clapton fever...!!!
Enjoy!

That's getting better all the time Hilch. Got a lot more fluency and a nice beat now. Good job. Don't worry about the distortion ... that's a mere technical problem, lol.
