Street Spirit - RadioHead Cover..
This is just one take with harmonies on the vocals done afterward.
We going to work on it a bit more, but I think it sounds pretty ok. It's funny cause I recorded the guitar work and vocal on the same track, when I meant to get them seperate so I could touch them up seperately, but this is with no touching up at all, and I am impressed, hope you are to

Try copy link location and play URL in Winamp. Cause I just tried that and it worked fine. You had any other troubles playing files uploaded to GFB?

It played for me through Windows Media Player.
It sounds good - I don't know the original, but the playing and harmonies are very nice!
One strange thing is that WMP says the file is 1'27" but it kept playing for 3'28" ! Very strange. There probably is something unusual with the way this file is encoded, but I don't know what it is. Let's see what others report.
Good job!

Awesome job on the vocals, I really liked the harmonizing. You should try something similar with the guitar part too. Good transposing to match your vocal range also, are you playing with a capo on the 8th fret or just higher on the neck?
Anyway, Radiohead would be proud. If you have any other covers of them please share them, they are my favourite band.

Thanks all, I can't take credit for those vocals, I am a horrible hairy bloke
That was my friend CeeBee she very good.
That was just our rough draft to be honest, she didn't even know the song when she arrived in my front room and we only had an hour and a half (England were playing in the world cup (yay England into the last 8 )) this was just to get an idea of speed and stuff.
Was just a single take, just to see how we would do (harmonies dubbed after) I was planning to record it all seperately so I could layer it later, but messed up and recorded both vocal and guitar on the same track.
The really cool thing was, we hadn't even practiced the last verse, she just banged that one out first time, the others we practiced a bit to get the speed right.
Also aye, capo'd at the 8th to match her rather high pitch.
She really enjoyed herself tho, so hopefully there will be more of this in the future.

Thanks for all the positive feedback
Also just to correct, it was capo'd at the 9th, not the 8th. Not that it really matters, but it is a guitar learning message board, so best to get the right information out there.

9th fret? Are you sure your guitar wasn't tuned down half a step to begin with. Like you said it doesn't really matter, it sounded beautiful regardless .
Also, if I could request "I Will" by Radiohead, that song has some great harmonizing that you guys could work with. Just a thought.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
