Kathy's Song
This was done last week in 4 parts, picking style, vocals, rythym and lead using adobe audition 1.5, only really played since the turn of 2006 with a 25 year break from music of any kind. Appologies for the bad singing and lead guitar work lol, gettin older by the minute here.

Welcome back to playing and good job!
I have to say that if you've only been back playing for a few months after a long layoff, you sure got your finger-picking skills back quickly. It sounds like you hardly had a break at all. I liked the lead and your voice too - both very sincere and I want to hear this a few more times...I really like it.
I took most of the 90's off myself from guitar and really just started up again last summer - so I know how you feel! But it's kinda like riding a bike - you never really forget how to do it and it will all come back. My hands are older and have arthritis now, but we have to carry on anyway!
Great song!

many thnx Jim, i have been using jamorama to learn, also a lot of help from a friend who played in a band we had back in the 70's, im like yourself got problems with my finger joints and it has slowed me way down i think they call it old age darn thing lol. Its like going back to basics again but this time i now am taking the theory a lot more serious than ever before, usual when we were kids it was a case of pick the guitar up make some wacky noises and it was good not nowadays lol. Hope your enjoying the guitar this time round also, many thnx once again

No one can master every aspect of guitar playing, they just get better everyday.

Your voice has a melancholy tone to it that makes me just close my eyes and listen...!!!
It fits this song beautifully...!!!
Cheers...!!!

many thnx folks, no its not too difficult to play, basically just a 3 finger switch thumb various on bass strings and index and middle finger alternate on B and High E string takes a wee bit to get it close to being right which i havent nailed yet by a long way lol

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
