Never figured on becoming a computer genius ...

Here's a take of Can't Find My Way Home, from Kirk's Lesson.
Warn ya in advance, I'm used to a pick and 9's or 10's on a Strat...now I'm working on finger-pickin' 12's on an acoustic. That's one of the reasons I'm here.
Apologies to Kirk in advance for trying something a little different that I posted in the lesson discussion thread... the thing about the change of flavor.
And Clancy .....thank you for steering me in the right direction on getting my computer skills up to snuff with this Audacity software.

I liked that alot. It is good to take a tune and make it your own. Adding your own feel to it. I am sure Kirk will be pleased. Congrats

Nice one, Garry. It sure sounds good with the steel string ring. Good to see you've come to grips with recording, too. I do suggest you get yourself a decent mic ... that made the world of difference to my recordings. Wait til you get into overdubbing over backing tracks, that's where the fun really starts!

I look forward to hearing your takes for all the lessons here!

Can't thank you guys enough, been one of those days, roadblock after roadblock.
I'm looking forward to a better quality mic and the overdubbing.......then again, I think I should get used to what I have to work with for
now. Came real close to launching this computer across the room a few times today.
Just do me a little favor...(criticize )..the bass line was lacking I thought, and I'm having a rough time incorporating my other fingers into the mix. That was a thumb and index finger special. All falls back to one thing...(PRACTICE)

Take Care,

Garry

I think you did a tremendous job on that Garry... Sounded really clean and smooth...!!!

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Hey Garry, sounded really nice, very clean sounding. I don't know anything about mike's. What kind are you using? And what are the better quality mike's that Kirk is suggesting?
