  first attempt blush blush

hey, this is my first time all round,

first time using the pute to record my guitar
first time uploading
first time letting any one other than my wife, kidzs, teacher and some mates ever hear me play lol

been playing for three years now but really got in to this site and have picked up loads o tips. i used cubase and recorded three tracks. basicaly "borrowed" lol the sructure from prince "cross" two chords E and Asus after i recorcded i added some effects. first go at it.

i got a fender mex strat thru a marshall BBII in to the line in. backing was done on just boost with some effects put on after and the intro the same with some flange effect. the lead was done the same but switched the BBII to blues and added some delay after recorded. wanted to get that prince sound.

i really enjoyed playing around with it all and has really inspired me to continue. wish i new how to use the drum bits in the software lol

please any comments and tips will really help GOOD and BAD LOL

thx (i now goin to shy away and wait, god how sad im 35 aswell LOL)

Not bad dude...!!! Nice tone on the lead... The rhythm guitar could have been a little
louder in the mix, but all and all, not bad at all...!!!

What version of Cubase are you using, and what drum software do you have installed?

The hard part is over. Getting the courage to upload your first take is the hardest thing. I agree with what others have said. Your lead needs to be further back in the mix. Try singing a lead over the backtrack for melodic ideas of what to play and then working it out on your guitar.
A good first attempt. Keep it up.

Multitrack studio automaticly mixes it to stereo. There must be a similar function on cubase somewhere.

When you create a new audio track, you should get a pop-up that asks what type
of recording you would like to make... choose stereo...

Well done, dudemyster. There's nothing more fun than multitracking and I can hear the fun you're having. Good sounds you pulled up, too. Keep on keeping on ... next time you should maybe introduce a third chord into it all, add a bit of interest, but I do understand that you're experimenting and exploring the possibilities. The main thing is to keep it up and keep pushing yourself a little further each time.

Dudemyster -

Nice one. Great job after just a few years playing. Sounds like you have a good ear for the good note choices.
