  first recording & post

Be gentle ! I have practicing PT for about a year. Prior to that, nothing but open chord strumming and flat picking.

Thanks!

Good first attempt. You just need some more confidence in your playing. Shame the take was so short. You seemed to be hitting your stride around the 35 second mark.

Thanks AT. Yes its crude but my goal today was to just try and get something on the boards. My first taste of recording and I like it. Long way to go though, it looks like the recording side of things is going to be as difficult as guitar playing.

Here is another take ... lots of room for improvement

Nice one, mjwjr ... keep working away at it, recording, listening back, fine-tuning ... that's what it's all about. Keep posting them here, too; there's nothing like constructive feedback to keep you on the right track.

I really enjoyed your second upload, it sounded very nice. It just seemed to have a better flow to it than the first one. Good job!

Good effort bro...!!! The second one did seem to flow better... One of the toughest
things in music is timing, something I think every one struggles with... One thing that
helped me immensely is practicing with a metronome, it keeps things focused on an outside
time source, rather than our internal ticker, which in most cases is much less accurate...

Here is a utility I found most useful... It incorporates a guitar tuner, metronome,
chord chart and most common scales... It's not very fancy but it does the job...!!!

Guitools.exe

It needs no installation just download it and have fun...!!!

Cheers...
Ben

Thanks .. the guitool metronome is nice and really helped keep the rythm steady. That will work well.

Here is another with the help of my 5 year old, Nick.

Thanks for the feedback.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
