Cavatina (Theme from Deer Hunter) by Stanley Myers

Hi all,

A couple of recent posts

This one - What inspired you to learn guitar?

and this one - http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/fo...ead.php?t=1734

have mentioned this so I thought, "what the hell". Managed to get hold of a reasonable tab and this is the result. I don't own a nylon string so apologies for that. I know that sometimes I'm not quite holding down the strings properly and that some of the chord transitions, especially towards the end, could be better, but if anyone could point out any other areas that need improvement, I'd be grateful.

Thanks,
Simon

That's sounding good Simon, all you need is a little more time to let the tune sink into your hands and fingers. That very first mp3 you posted is proof that once you really digest a piece, you can deliver. Just play it and play it and play it. Like all pieces, once you have it all mapped out and you're able to be thinking a few bars ahead, the musical flow gets easier.

What a beautiful composition.

Once your comfort level increases with that tune it will sound great. It is coming along. Cool.

Kirk, could you do that song as a lesson? P l e a s e!!

It's such a beautiful song, and I'd love to be able to learn to play a rendition of it.

hey that sounds great buddy, keep them comin, thanks for sharing. you've really done well

Just practice the same arrangement very slowly and with full control for a few more days, and when you do that it'll come from memory and then you can feel the song and play. this has been recently implemented by me because of allthumbs advice and has really worked.

No one can master every aspect of guitar playing, they just get better everyday.

It's sounding pretty good. A little more time and you will have it down.
