Seeing as I'm j ust amazing (not really) I've been guitaring for about.. i dont know 5 years? And getting bored is NOT acceptable.. so after a LOOONG 1 hour break.. i broke out the axe and recorded myself improvising.. enjoy!
It's cool that your spending some time doing improv. I do a lot of that myself. Sounds like your into scales and pentatinic stuff. I prefer playing through chords myself, easier to keep track of where I am in a tune and what notes will sound good and what won't. What were you using to record with ? Your lead seemed to fade in and out. You could have been a bit further back in the mix so we could hear how well you were working within the framework of the tune. Just a thought.
yeah.. i'm embarrased to even say what i was recording with My sound forge kinda.. gave in on me.. so i'm stuck using windows recording thing.. =\ its terrible really. And thanks, i'll keep that in mind..
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
