Biography:
I have been playing/learning guitar for about 6 years now (self-taught), and I learn something new all the time. My interest actually stemmed from playing piano. I currently own a 7-string Ibanez, Takamine acoustic/electric, and 2 strat-like guitars. I have done setup on all of them (filing and honing frets, setting action and adjusting to get best sound out of the instrument) and totally ripped apart and re-did my first guitar (sanded body back to natural wood, re-wired everything, and shielded my pickups). I have done alot of set-up on other guitars as well for friends. I have many different amps and digital effects boards and pedals. I have been playing mostly through a Peavey Supreme XL head (solid-state) and Peavey 412 half-stack (they really are blue marvels). I also have a smaller peavey practice amp and a crate vintage club tube practice amp. I use a Zakk Wylde overdrive pedal and a DOD Tec8 digital effects board. I can pretty much replicate any sound. I have done extensive work on all my guitars and am looking to include some others to my collection (currently looking at a Gibson Les Paul Special my favorite of all favorites). I have also picked up bass guitar in the past, but never got totally into it. The sound I like is that of Tool and is the sound I try to achieve. My musical taste is widely varied though so my sound varies as well. I also am a huge fan of SRV and Hendrix, and play alot of blues. If anyone has questions about setup or checking and fixing loose frets, or pretty much anything that has to do with the mechanics of the guitar itself, including setting up for left-handed use, send me a message on my AIM. It is always on and I will respond as soon as I can. Do not be afraid to ask.
