Little Vintage Guitar
Here's the Yamaha FG - 160 my husband got me today. We're just getting used to each other (Yamaha and me - my husband and I are already used to each other!)

I'm small, oh Cheeky One. You should have seen me trying to play my husband's Washburn - sheesh! This guitar is a little smaller.
The tone? It sounds great when someone else plays it :-)

Hi D-Dawn,
Me too! A Yamaha wasn't one I had even considered, but it is what my sweet husband got for me and I am enjoying it a lot. I still think of Yamahas as motorcycles - I had one a long time ago! How long have you had your Yamaha?

LOL I was going for a Martin or maybe a Taylor when I played mine...after I played I decided that I could get all of the tone for half the price...and did!! I got one fo the hand crafted series and its sweet....VERY well made...changed my opinion of Yamaha guitars for sure! Lets see I got mine back in Feb. and I still play it more than the others

Yahama Mama, er Chris .... may your strings forever be tuned.
You look extremely comfortable with the 160. Your husband has a true sensibility about him!
The finish and color tone of the 160 tells me some one really cared for it. And the smile upon your face shows you can do no less.

Over time that will change...
A story from my own history. My first real guitar was a Fender Tex-Mex Stratocaster & a Fender Pro Junior (little tube amp). I had been playing for a little while and the tone was so 'thin' that I thought something was wrong with my equipment. I was so I took it to church on Sunday to have my friend Wayne check it out. Now Wayne had been playing for +40 years (some professional work along the way). After church we plugged everything in and OMG he could make my guitar sound soooo sweet.
Now 10 years later, I have found that on occassion I can get that same sweet tone he got.
Keep practicing and you will get great tone from your new guitar as well.
