Just bought a right cheap Electric Acoustic....
And its amazingly nice to play.
Was really shocked when I went into the shop as I was just taking in one of my guitars to be restrung (chuckle I know what can i say) and was playing around on some of the guitars there.
Couldn't believe the price tag on the guitar I was playing and just decided on the spot it was about time I got a steel strung I could record a little easier.
I don't have the pound sign but using the currency convertor on my phone it says, $219
Which is about 115 quid in english money.
Which is amazingly cheap really, its a really nice guitar sounds lovely and plays really well.
It's called a Stagg guitar, not really heard of them before, probably made in china or something, but it plays so well I figured it was a bargin for someone like me.

I have heard of staggs before. They are very common in England. Look on U.K. ebay. There are usually a lot there. They are considered a low end guitar but, as I have said before. The right guy on the right machine at the right time in the factory can turn out a gem in an other wise ordinary line of guitars. Glad you got lucky and found a keeper. I love hearing stories like that.

Hey Fong, That was kind of the same thing for me and finding my Brownsville. I think it was the same price as your guitar. No name but nice playing acoustic, good action, and a decent price. Now lets hear a recording!!!

Yeah, I own Stagg--electric LP style--got it for $199.US and considered it a good value-great finish-sounds real good and plays very nice--I looked at the acooustics and the hollow bodies, IMO if you're not concerned with having the proper "name' on your guitar they are a real nice value--you are right they are made in china and to my eye they are doing finish and detail work better then many better known companies. This is with bass high to get the ring and high High End to match the song. I don't think it does the guitar justice to be honest, but its still pretty clear and nice compared to my usual steel string recordings which were awful.
I was talking to the guy in the shop, who was quite surprised that I decided on the spot to buy it since I was only there to get some work done on my other guitar and was just playing around while I waited.
He was telling me that the finish, action and sound on these guitars now are soo good, he was saying that they have to be to compete in the market place.
I have a Yahama F-310, another budget guitar, but its non-electric I think it was a fair price more expensive them the Stagg and I had to have the action changed before it was a good guitar, this one played straight off the rack, I literally tuned it and it sounded lovely.
Which is probably why I bought it on the spot.

I know this not generally the place, but I wanted to showcase the guitar a little better.
I came up with this little riff while I was in the shop, not really had a chance to expand on it, not sure I even will, but it suited the guitar quite nicely.

Thanks always wanted a black acoustic guitar, sad as that sounds.
I like the cut away too, I can play the first solo in comfortably numb on this acoustic which I couldn't on my other.
I don't think I got to grips with recording it properly just yet, first recording had a lot of what it calls 'presence' I think its a high band booster, but I not really worked out how best to record it yet.
Sounds a lot better to my ear when played acousticly, and i am sure i can get a better recording given some time to mess around with settings.
I am liking it, altho I have put a blister on one of my picking fingers from playing it too hard for too long last night

My first guitar was a stagg and that was great for a learner and plays certain tunes better than my £800 guitar, its fantastic for most of the Oasis songs and the action is second to none that I have played since that one. Dont put heavy strings on it though as it sounds awfull!
I play my stagg at least 5 times a week and I only got a different guitar as I wanted a electro / accustic for recording.
