Hey everyone:
Thanks to everyone who answered my questions about setting up electric guitars. See thread:
My First guitar setup. I was very impressed with the difference in the playability of the guitar (a Bently Electric model 2231/R), once I had set it up. This is by now means a high end electric, but it plays real easy and, as a bonus, the body resonates almost as well as my Godin SD.

I have done some research and have found that this particular model was made back in '84-'85. I am going look for more specs, but I wonder if any of you guys know about the single coil pickups in guitars from this time. When I plugged the Bently into my Peavey solid state amp it created a nice warm jazzy tone. In a way, the guitar made my amp sound like a tube amp. Is this considered good or bad... I like the sound a lot personally, buy I bought this guitar to work on and sell so... I wonder if the warm tone is due to low end pickups or did single coils from this time all have a warm tone?

I'll post a pic later. Got to go...
