Anyone know about these...

Hey everyone:

Thanks to everyone who answered my questions about setting up electric guitars. See thread: My First guitar setup. I was very impressed with the difference in the playability of the guitar (a Bently Electric model 2231/R), once I had set it up. This is by now means a high end electric, but it plays real easy and, as a bonus, the body resonates almost as well as my Godin SD. I have done some research and have found that this particular model was made back in '84-'85. I am going look for more specs, but I wonder if any of you guys know about the single coil pickups in guitars from this time. When I plugged the Bently into my Peavey solid state amp it created a nice warm jazzy tone. In a way, the guitar made my amp sound like a tube amp. Is this considered good or bad... I like the sound a lot personally, buy I bought this guitar to work on and sell so... I wonder if the warm tone is due to low end pickups or did single coils from this time all have a warm tone? I'll post a pic later. Got to go...

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
