That looks great to start with. I always fancied the bar markers on the fretboards as opposed to the dots. You have a nice one there!

Hi Col, Your Sister probably got it from the Rose Morris shop which is in Denmark Street in London, it's nice to know where a guitar originated from, thought you might want to know, enjoy your Guitar playing.

+1 on making sure it's setup with good action. Nothing will kill a starting guitarist faster than a hard to play guitar. Nice looking, unique pickguard. From what starsailor sez, it might be something special.

NEVER let an untrained person do a "set up"! My lovely Ibanez got ruined when one of my ex-bandmates who claims to be a "self taught tech" tried to "fix it up". LEAVE PROFESSIONAL JOBS UP TO PROFESSIONALS!

Good point Jessica,
Sorry to hear about your bad experience, let me offer you something my Dad raised me with..."Believe nothing what you hear and only half of what you see". The "self taught" should of been a giveaway clue to stay away.
One more thing since I'm ranting anyways...setting up a guitar is not a professional's only job, but "DO" choose one if your not comfortable doing it yourself or confident in the friend your thinking of choosing.
