My new Schecter Guitar

After a few weeks of looking at all sorts of guitars and looking at every details, I purchased a Schecter Demon for $439CA, which is really good for a good looking guitar with mahogany body and duncan designed active pick ups.

I'm happy about it. I should get someone to take a picture of me actually playing it rather than a picture of a guitar on a stand.

Congrats, Rick! Schecters are a great buy - very good quality for the price.

Hey, thanks for all the comments all!

Now I have to look for a descent amp to get the most out of this thing. I have a Kustom practice amp right now and I don't think it can handle the awesome sound of this new baby, lol

Any recommendations on the amp? I'm looking around $200-$300CA range for a hard rock/punk sound

You might want to look at the Spider line of amps by Line 6. I know they are up to Spider III so you might be able to find a deal on the Spider II's which are now discontinued. They have quite a few built in digital effects that you might like (super heavy distortion) and come in different sizes.

http://line6.com/spiderii/

Give them a listen.. might be exactly what you are looking for in your price range.

Best of luck with the new guitar,

Michael

Check out the Roland Cube 30X. Check the reviews on MF and Harmony Central - it comes highly recommended. The amp models are fairly realistic, it has enough built-in fx to keep you busy for a while, and they're solid, reliable amps.

I second that, I have a Cube 30 and it is very versatile. The clean tone is very nice indeed.

Reminds me of Synyster Gates's axe. It's a cool one.

It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
