Guitar Lineup

Here's my current lineup of electrics.

From left to right: ESP M50, Schecter S1, Schecter C1, Ibanez SZ520, Epiphone Strat, BC Rich Warlock. Each one has aftermarket pickups and various other upgrades. I think it might be time to start looking at acoustics.

All hail eBay and pawn shops for making this collection possible for I am not a wealthy man. Send string money!!

So which one out of those plays the best? I'm looking at a bunch of guitars from those brands (schecter, BC Rich, ESP, Ibanez).

Great lineup, EF! What are you playing them through?

The Ibanez is the nicest, best sounding, most solid feeling guitar. It's heavy, feels like an anchor. The Schecters are both really nice as well. Their guitars are really a bargain these days. The ESP/LTD was cheap ($129 new for a scratch n dent) and I bought it as a paint project. It's nice now that I've done a lot of work on it, but initially I was a little disappointed. Pretty cheap feeling, but I guess that's to be expected for a bottom of the line model. Their mid-models are considerably nicer, but still seem a step below Ibanez and Schecter for the $$. The BC Rich was also very inexpensive but surprisingly well made. The bottom line is to try to look at as many as you can. Hopefully you have a Guitar Center or Sam Ash around!

Here's one more photo.

I'm playing through a VOX Valvetronix AD30VT which I really like. I just got a Fender Frontman 15G (for $30) for the living room and it sounds a lot better than I expected.

Love em all, especially the schecters. But not a big fan of the warlock, my brother has one. It's a nice metal guitar but I'm not a lover of the shape. But it would be a sad world if we all liked the same thing.

Yeah, Ibanez's are heavy. My RG always feels like a piece of rock. Anyways, I love that Warlock!

Also, be careful buying from pawnshops (sometimes ebay too) as people sell stolen stuff there. You don't want the cops comming to your door just for buying a new axe (not a battleaxe of course!).

EF,
Nice collection there. I personaly like the Schecter, I have a question though.
Which guitar has the widest fretboard at the nut. And what does it measure ?
To me it looks llike the first one in line.

Yeah the ESP's are generally cheap in the "50" models. I have an EX-50 and had to put in some EMG's which made it worth the money. There's a sam ash and a guitar center right next to each other about 15 mins. away. The guitar center is really sketchy though.. My friend bought gibson SG there and the pickups were practically falling out. Also Sam ash doesn't carry BC Rich's.. Not sure if guitar center does.. I'll have to check it out. Thanks anyways. Kick ass group of guitars.

Thx 4 the comments. It's funny how some people love Warlocks and some can't stand them. I'm a bit leery of weird shapes but always liked the Warlocks. I like the BC Rich Bich's too, but not the Mockingbird. I put Bill Lawrence rail pickups in the Warlock which really improved the sound. Plus it looks cool with those PU's. I changed all the hardware to black and use black strings on it. It can't get any more black.

About the pawnshop comment, I work in the business and you don't need to worry about the police coming to your door. Maybe if you'd bought a super rare collectible piece the owner might offer to buy it from you, but that doesn't happen very often. Pawnshops hold incoming stuff a month or two (depending on state laws) before they sell it, which gives law enforcement time to find and recover stolen items.

I look at a zillion pawnshop guitars, and unfortunately most of them are beat up. I've had much better luck using Ebay to find those near-mint models. Pawnshops are great for amps and pedals too.
