my weapon of choice
this is my Mexi-made Fender FatStrat for those of you not in the know the Fat comes from the humbucker in the bridge position. This piece makes for some really beautiful sounding Blues leads lol . The Amp is a Fender "hotrod" deluxe. It kinda holds a special spot in my heart as well. hopefully if i can get my camera back up and running I'll post some pics of my acoustic guitars.

Uhm, well, according to a couple of books I've been reading, yes and no.....
The "Super Strat" term came about by other companies that were making strat-like guitars (clones) but with stronger pups, and usually have a Floyd Rose Trem, or a Floyd Rose licensed trem. Maybe a switch or two to put the pups out of phase, some special things to differentiate it from the normal Strat.
Now, Does Fender make some modded out Strats with all kind of special items, oh yeh.
But Fender doesn't refer to them as Super Strats. That's their marketing thing.
But, this is just what a couple of guys that deem themselves experts on the subject, wrote in a couple of books that I got at the Half-price book store for less than half-price.
But what do I know!!!!!

Hey, Don't be sorry. Just from the stuff I've read, seen & heard, Super Strat is sort of a generic term for a Strat shaped guitar that has lots of extra goodies the original strats didn't have. Matter of fact, the Humbucker on a strat type body was NOT the idea of Fender. Prior to Fender buying Jackson and guild and a multitude of other companies, I think it was Jackson that added a humbucker to that style of body. (could be, probably wrong, but ...!)
I mean, take a look at all the guitars out there that resemble a Strat body and see what's on it. it took a few years before Fender actually used a FLoyd Rose or FR type trem instead of their own.
anyhoo, it's just a term that the industry in general put out there. You can apply it to just about any Strat modelled guitar out.
Fact is Scrappydidn't has a nice looking, and I'm sure, nice sounding rig. The HotRod deluxe is one, sweet amp!! And running his MIM Start through it,, mmmmmm, oh yeh!
