My Guitars.....
OK, here's a couple of pics of my guitars.....
L to R, Freshman Bass - cheap, but a decent bass for the price, and it never goes out of tune....Squier Strat - sold it when I got the guitar on it's right, Squier Custom tele....I LOVE that guitar, it just feels so right in my hands......
L to R, Cheapish freshman 12-string - sold it because I never had the time to play it....Yamaha Acoustic, nice guitar, I bought it because the Encore to the right of it didn't have a cut-away...and the Encore EA255, I'll never get rid of that because the Mrs bought it as a surprise present.....
I got rid of the Yamaha when I bought this....
it's a beautiful guitar, cost me $200 off a guy who bought it off a guy on e-Bay - I picked it up on holiday in Texas, the very same night i played my first open mic.....
I don't know what it is - but here's a couple more pics. If anyone can throw any light onto the origins of this guitar, I'd be grateful.....

Anyone got a clue?
I haven't - I've googled it a few times, got nowhere....it's a mystery guitar....

Wow, that's a beautiful guitar, Vic. Where did the fellow who sold it say that it came from? Does it have a wood binding or is it plastic - couldn't tell from the photos. If it's wood, then perhaps it's a custom luthier job. $200 is a steal. Give you $250 for it .
If nobody from here can identify it, then you could post a pointer to the pix on rec.music.makers.guitar.acoustic news group. There's sure to be someone there who knows something about it.

LOL, it's not for sale and it'll NEVER be up for sale - not while I'm still on the surface of this planet in some shape or form.....
i took it to the pub a few times, general consensus of opinion from the guys in there, it's so beautifully made it has to be a custom job - but who made it, and who for?
I've tried a few fairly expensive guitars - don't feel anything like as nice as this one - I even took it into a guitar shop locally, the guy there is well known as a good luthier, even he said somrthing like "wow, where the hell did you get this from...!!!!" - I only wish my talent could do it justice......
Everybody who's ever played this guitar - without fail - has commented on how easy it is to play. Nice action, lovely sound.....
I'll try and post a clip of how she sounds tomorrow - got a busy morning, but I'll try and get something up....

ok, you drive a hard bargain - $300?
Seriously, though, you should post a pointer to the pix on rec.music.makers.guitar.acoustic news-group and ask them if they've heard tell of an SPT guitar.

Nice axe collection there, Vic!
That SPT is beautiful! I Google'd SPT also, and the only match that was even close was a budget model from Aria, which obviously isn't what you have there! I'm looking forward to hearing a soundclip of it - bet she plays as purty as she looks!

I got rid of the Squier Strat not long after I got the Squier Tele - seemed pointless keeping something around that never got played. I actually thought I could manage with one electric - I'm on the lookout for another Squier Tele to keep in open G for slide.
All I have left is the SPT, Squier Tele, Freshman Bass and Encore acoustic - apart from a battered old acoustic in the attic somewhere which is more gaffer tape than guitar......
The Mrs says I've got way too much stuff - but I think 2 electrics, 2 acoustics and a bass, with a guitar amp and a bass amp, is the bare minimum.
Sigh - I'll just have to make do I suppose - now where's that lottery ticket while I check my numbers....?

Yeah, I still really want a 5-string bass - a lot of my songs are in A or D, I love the idea of being able to play a root D note on the bottom string.... either that or re-learn how to play the 4-string bass in drop D......
But a second electric's a must - for open G tuning. I've alway liked the idea of playing slide in standard tuning - even more so since Mr Lorange made a few telling pointers in another thread, that the 2nd 3rd and 4th strings in standard are a major triad - top 3 strings, a minor chord - top 4, a minor 7th - 5th 4th & 3rd a sus 4th chord....
But I do like open G for songs like Vigilante Man, Happy, Brown Sugar and some Dylan songs....
