It's a Vintage..They've really come on as a company since some pickup expert (Tom Wilkinson????) who's name escapes me got involved in the production of the guitars. I've got a vintage strat that I use as a slide guitar but this one is far too nice for that!! Nice guitar

Those look like Bill Lawrence pickups to me, so it's probably him.

Yeah it is a Vintage (name not age) a V8 Jackson body, there are other V8's, some with tremelo's others with a 5 way selector switch etc...

I didn't want a trem and looked at what was available and got a pretty good deal on this with a peavey practice amp etc..

I liked the finish and it felt right, compared to others that felt ok.

The action is just a wee tad low as the 6th string buzzes slightly, I'm going to follow the guide on her to see if I can sort it if not I'll head into the shop. First port of call though is to change the strings, just in case it is cheap strings?

What's the rush? How long have you had it? My advice would be to play it a bit first and let it settle down.

New strings buzz until they are worn in a bit. Give it a while before you start chasing your tail. And when you say it buzzes, but we should check: does it buzz when you play it through the amp or just when you are playing it without plugging it in.

Both, I can hear it when through amp or not. The action is very low, just the slightest touch to fret it. I'll look at taking a shot of it to show how low.

At first glance I thought it was a Paul Reed Smith, what with that bird-like inlay at the 12th fret. Then I looked at the headstock and said, "Nah...can't be."

Then again, what do I know?

Nice finish on that sweet thing. Sorta reminds me of an Ibanez SA prestige.
