Jon that is fabulous work, what kind of equipment do you use anyway ?
2x2 - or bigger stuff. If digital? how many megapixel ? You should be making posters.

Thanks all.
This shot was taken with a Sony digital at 8 million pixels.
The guitar was placed on the floor in darkness and I used a torch/flashlight as if using a paint brush on the guitar while the camera was on a long exposure.
Edits on computer after shot were a little sharpening and darkening of lower part of the image where a small area of the floor was picked up by the torch light.

Jon,

That is pure Art, brother!!

My only complaint!.....I used to take pictures as a hobby/part time gig. High school portraits, a couple of weddings, family portraits. Then I got back into music.

I've been working diligently to improve my playing....NOW THIS!!!! you're making me want to get my cameras out and start shooting again!!

And you paint with light, literally!! Some absolutely beautiful stuff!

Well, back to my guitar, for now!

Keep posting the pics, though!! They are really enjoyable!

Jon,
I build automation assembly equipment. When we do a photoshoot of a finished piece,
I'm taking here in day light of a piece 4 foot x 6 foot. The photagrapher does the set up usually with a 2.25 x 2.25 or larger format like 8x10 old timer. He takes a flood light and walks around the piece removing all shadows. Now as the picture is being taken with long exposure, It is amazing how he never is seen in the picture kinda like a ghost.
For those who never saw it they would'nt believe their eyes.

thanks again for the feedback guys.
I got the idea of painting with light from a guy who used the same technique on the seafront, where using a high power light he painted a rock formation just offshore.
Being interested in abstract I couldn't resist the experiment.
As for photography and guitars, I find many guitarists who also enjoy photography, It must be the fact us artistic types need more than one interest to keep us satisfied and guitar/music and photography seem to work well at keeping our creativity active, and equally the frustrations.

Your photographic skills could make any guitar look great but when you start of with one that really does look great anyway ... wow! Lovely stuff.
