Welcme Kevin!

Sorry to read about your accident. About the best thing I can suggest is that you try out some of Kirk's easier lessons, but when you attempt it just try it one bar at a time or better still, practise the first few notes over and over until it is familiar with you. Then move on to the next set of notes.

Hope that is helpful to you. If not, I'm sure someone else will come along and offer more advice that will benefit you.

Hang in there!

Hi Kevin. I removed your email addie. It is not safe to put it on an open forum for the spambots to find. Put it in your control panel instead.
I feel your pain about the memory thing. My dyslexia also makes the memory thing a struggle. The trick is to keep it simple. Learn your basics a bit at a time and practice a lot. I focus on jamming rather than memorizing tunes for that reason. It is easier for me to make my own music than memorize someone else's. Good luck. Start here.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
