Wink Just decided to start playing

Hey everybody! My name is Kate and I am 21years old. I recently started going to many rock and alternative concerts and decided that I needed to learn to play the guitar. Its only been about 4 day since I started and so far Ive got a couple chords down. I guess I look forward to chatting with all of you becuase I may need some help along the way because this is something that I really want to stick with!

Hi Kate,

Nice to have another girl around here Welcome to the forum. If you stick around I'm sure you'll learn a lot from this site and from the other players on the forum.

Welcome.

Clancy

Hi Kate21 ... welcome to the forum and to the WWT ... the Wonderful World of Twanging. You've just embarked on a lifelong journey. Feel free to ask any questions, you've certainly come to the right place for that and don't worry if some of the lessons here seem beyond you right now, you can get stuck into them soon.

Remember, you're only a beginner for a little while ... get those fingers toughened up, let them know in no uncertain terms that you're the boss, and that they must obey. You're going to amazed at how quickly they fall into line.

Hi Kate21. Welcome. Be sure to check out the basic lessons on the Main page of BG&B. Look in the nav bar or the red banner at the top of the page for lessons on chords etc.

Congrats on getting a guitar and starting down the path of learning how to play. I picked up my first guitar when I was 33 yrs old. Wish I had started younger

OK "oldies" (excluding Clancy of course), I've got this one

Sooo.... Kate21 hows it going?

I'm particularly happy to see that more girls are visiting the forum. To be honest you won't learn much from me (yet) if guitar playing is what you are looking for but if ... ... ... let me know!

Just kiddin' this is a great resource for learning how to play and there are quite a few talented guitar players here like Kirk, Allthumbs, bluesguy, 6string, Neilsonite and many others (I'm not sure if Clancy plays, but if she did she would be "darn" good at it) that can help you whenever you get stuck. So don't hesitate to ask questions (I know I don't )

The most important thing is to enjoy yourself when playing!
