Introduction
Hello,
My name is Gary Davis, I am new to this forum.
I'm kinda old, took up guitar decades ago but dropped it for a long, long time.
The internet has recharged my interest, and for that I am grateful.
I now play every day and enjoy it like nothing else before. I've learned more
in the past year and a half than in prior decades of mucking around.
Even at my advanced age, I still enjoy good old rock and roll and have learned
some great tunes from groups I totally ignored or knew nothing about in the past.
Having learned some of these songs helps me to appreciate and marvel at the
creativity and talent of people half my age. I now play songs from the likes of
Green Day, Nirvana, Saliva, Three Doors Down, Matchbox 20, Def Leppard, Tom
Petty, and Disturbed, and, of course, Eric Clapton. I'm no pro, but I have the time of my life playing as best as I can. I'm not too shabby at fingerpicking.
My guitar is an American made Sratocaster and a no name acoustic from Nagoya -
probably not even making guitars these days - I bought that around 1969 or 1970.
I put a passive pickup on that old thing and all of a sudden it sounds terrific.
Thanks for hearing me out - looking forward to participating in your forum.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
