Old Newie ??
Greetings All
Not sure how a 52 y-o basic plucker/strummer got here - but amazing where following a few links by chance will take you. Remember seeing Kirk Lorange at the Green Man in Malvern many years ago (showing my age) where he inadvertently 'stole the show' from Doug Ashdown : ) Still have his No Apostrophe album (somewhere with the ex's stuff alas) and just wish I could play a 20th as well as him. Anything outside basic chords and fingering I struggle - mainly due to lack of time to persevere and probably 'contentment' with the lowly standard I'm at anyway - but when I see a Stevie Ray vaughan DVD or have a new acquaintance turn up who can 'really play' I occasionally get 'inspired' or frustrated whatever.
Will pop in now and agiain just to see what help/chats/advice there is.
Meanwhile - merry Christmas to all from smoky old Benalla

Hi si16
Scotland!! Boy this website sure has participants from all over. Chile, USA and now bonnie Scotland. My Grandmother was from Elgin and also had good friends in Dundee and then Perth who since migrated Down Under and split up alas. Catch a trout for me - something I didn't manage when I tried fly fishing many years ago.

Sounds a bit too much like hard work. How about I just eat one for you instead?

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
