Hi, from Rushden, England

I have been trying to play guitar for 30 years now, but never got passed 2 chords. I have just had my guitar converted from 6 string to 4, and tuned GDAE same as a mandolin. The reason for this is, i have very large hands and thick finger tips, and found it just about impossible to cover only one string at a time. Now my guitar has the same width neck with plenty of space between strings, and i can actually play the thing with a lot less frustration. hopefully this site will help me improve my playing.
Good luck to everybody on this site
Jim

Hi Jim. That's certainly unconventional but I hope it works out for you.

Cool. Looking forward to hearing something from you. You could also consider playing slide too.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
