well I have an Esteban acoustic guitar because my first electric guitar i had got when I was 14 - which was a Silvertone - finally bit the dust. so im looking for a new electric...i was thinking a Dean Evo XM Electric. It really does suit me. Any thoughts on that? Oh and I just recently decided it was my destiny to be a rockstarlett - yes I made that up - and so i recently picked up guitar again and realized I had alot to learn. But that's okay because I know I can do it. So I guess I'll post anything else in another forum? Or you can obviously send me a message.

I took a quick look at your dean on Harmony Central. It is a Chinese built which means the build quality is all over the place. Some are ok and others all but unplayable. Go to the Guitar Tech forum and read the thread on how to check the string height. Nothing worse than trying to learn on a guitar with high strings. Run your hand along the edge of the neck. Your looking to see if the fret wire is sticking out over the edge of the neck. Lots of tape and a file will fix that if it is a problem. Some guys have trouble with neck stability so it wont stay in tune. You will have to play for a while and see if you have any problems. Some are an easy fix and some aren't. I hope you got a good one.

I have held my guitar in my hands since i was 14 but havent really tried to learn until 2 weeks ago. So im as new as can be. I'm very much a rock enthusiast. My favorite bands include: Mindless Self Indulgence, H.I.M., Blue October, Disturbed, Stone Temple Pilots, Wired All Wrong, A.SYMBIONT....then other bands incluce My Chemical Romance, No Doubt, Alice In Chains.
