Hello
Just wanted to take the time to say, Hello. I've been trying to learn guitar off and on through the years but never could find the time. Now that I'm older and kids have grown, my wife and I have a little more time on our hands and I've decided to try again. Hope I can learn to play this time as It's always been my dream to pick up a quitar and jam away. I'm really enjoying the information on this website and really learning a lot. Thanks so much to everyone that takes the time to contribute.
Only problem I am having so far is these short fat fingers!!

Hi there. The more you play the less of a problem your 'short, fat' fingers will be.

Hi
Work on optimising what you have by getting your hands in the best position to develop accuracy and reach. Make sure your fretting hand is behind the neck for the most part, and behind the first and second fingers. I don't have particularly long fingers, but can play big, stretchy chords that people with hands much bigger than mine can't, simply because I worked at it and looked at overcoming the challenges from many perspectives.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
