How do you end up with 1 million dollars playing jazz? start with 2 million.

Hey Dad!!! Welcome aboard. You have come across one of , if not the best guitar teaching/sharing/informational sites around. There is a ton of info here covering all skill levels and the folks are all helpful, friendly and encouraging.
You'll , or should I say your son, will find this a great place to learn.
Have fun!
Oh, what kind of guitar did you get him? just out of curiosity.

I got him a Greg Bennett Malibu 2 made by Samick here is the specs on it.....
A lot has changed since the early 50’s, including the performance needs of musicians. The MALIBU™ series captures the essence of those early bolt-on neck guitars, in a sleek updated package. The slightly reduced body size makes it lighter and more manageable on those extended club sets.We also made the neck pocket deeper for a superior neck to body contact. The compact, angled back headstock also provides enhanced performance, not to mention the ability to stay in tune.
The angled back headstock produces greater string bearing pressure at the nut. This results in improved attack and sustain.
Angled back headstock
Grover™ tuners
MB 2 FEATURES
Double cutaway sculpted body
Maple bolt-on neck
Rosewood fingerboard
Grover™ tuners
Vintage tremolo
HSS pickups

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
