Hi,

The best thing to do is go to lessons with others, it will help your timing, give you a social outlet and you will learn soooo much more, If you don't want to do that, buy a book called "Guitar for dummies" its good. Last but NOT least keep on this forum, the guys and gals in here are magical

All the Best peter

How exactly does one "Teach" something that they don't know? I was going to teach myself but suddenly realized, I DON"T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT PLAYING THE GUITAR!!!
Sure I can find the chords and learn how to read tabs but there is a LOT of little niggly stuff that you just can't learn by yourself. Unless of course you're a natural born guitarist. There are indeed people with a gift who can pick it up with ease. I am not one of those. If you are, then you are one lucky S.O.B.! If you are not, do yourself the favour of getting lessons.

hey
A good teacher can provide inspiration, correction and strategies for advancement that you may not otherwise consider - a book or DVD will not tell you when you are not getting it right. It is very easy to fall into bad habits and not realise for a long time that you are holding back your progress.
I think seeing a good teacher, even if only occasionally , is very valuable.
All the best with it

It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
