Just saying hello...
Just wanted to introduce myself, I've been playing guitar for a little over a year, I've been practicing probably every day for at least 4-9 hours.... It seems now I'm stuck in a rut, and not sure what to do from this point foward. So I decided to join a forum and find new styles of music, more things to practice, and open my eyes to all the music around that I haven't noticed. So just a simple question, what are some simple things that I can do to get out of a rut, I play scales, and I have wide array of songs I can play, but I just can't seem to see anymore improvement. Thanks in advance.

Hello Acidbath, welcome!
Sometimes it can happen to any one of us in getting stuck in a rut.
Kirk's Plane Talk is a good plateau breaker and helps you to look at playing from a different, if not more logical angle. For more info, check out the Plane Talk feedback section right here: http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/fo...splay.php?f=42
Many have checked it out and are now major advocates of PT, as I am!
Good luck!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
