G'Day

G'day there!

I'm glad to be having the chance to be on a forum where I can share my love for guitars with others who appreciate where I'm coming from and share the same kind of interests etc.

Thanks for having me!

I know it well ... I haven't been in a few years but it was there, in about 1978, in the lobby of the ??Park Royal Hotel?? that I had to cough up my union dues ($21 as I recall) to the Musicians Union representative, or the band we were opening for -- Supertramp -- wouldn't be allowed to go onstage.

I coughed up, needless to say.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think the Park Royal is there anymore. Can you remember if it was the one on South Terrace?

By the way, how did the concert go?

My brother says he's seen you a few times and that your a brilliant guitarist. In the late 70's he used to play keyboards in a band called "The Fools". Prior to that, back in the late 60's and early 70's he was in "The Scott Tidd Movement"

His name is Trevor Burns and he's currently in a band called "Gotcha"

BTW, didn't you tour with Joe Satriani when he was last here?
If so, how did it go? I wanted to take my son to see the show but it didn't work out that way for us.

Hi Coldethyl, I see your a fan of Hitchock. Or do you just laugh when you see the end and decided to use it as your avatar?

^Yes you could say that I'm a Hitchock fan^

It's kind of a long story but the truth is I like Alice Cooper and the song Cold Ethyl and when I saw the avatar from Psycho, I thought it kind of went well with the name coldethyl, since the song is about an unfortunate fictional female by the name of Ethyl who just happens to be deceased.

That's my version of events anyway!
