Neilsonite

Hi everyone, I'm James (aka Neilsonite), and I'm a new contributor to the forum.

I'm a professional guitarist and teacher, and I've been playing and teaching most styles of guitar for many years. So, I'm here to help, particularly in areas that complement Kirk's areas of expertise, but I'll do my best with whatever you need.

I'll be available to post a bunch of lessons in a new area of the lessons section on all sorts of things that new and not-so-new players need to know, like strumming, playing with a pick, chords, ear training, songwriting, and all areas of technique and music theory. I'll start things off with a lesson on strumming, but please let me know if there are specific questions you have or topics you'd like addressed. Kirk already does lots of great songs, and while I might post a few song-based lessons, my emphasis will be on how to play.

If there are a few intermediate or more advanced players here who want something to really push their playing to the next level, let me know, I'm happy to help people at any level.

See you around,
James

Thumbs up

Great to have you on board James!

For anybody who hasn't been there yet, James aka Neilsonite now has his own lesson forum here. "Neilsonite's Lessons" http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/fo...splay.php?f=28

Check it out if you haven't already. His first lesson there is on strumming... I know many new guitar players have difficulties where strumming is concerned so his lesson should be great help. Download his attached mp3's and the pdf and play along.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
