The only LEFT HANDED guitar playing smile...

Greetings to everyone. I'm 30...40....50 something and this year is my36th year of teaching. People say I'm crazy to be teaching that long...well, you don't have to be crazy to teach, but there are days when it helps! I've been teaching Industrial Technology for the last 16 years at the middle school level and have added several content areas over the last 5 years.

One of these areas of high interest is Guitar Playing. I got the idea when I decided to play guitar again...this time left handed. I have a working juke box in my room, hey, what better way to teach technology...and we play it when things are going good. Some of the discussions centered around playing guitar and...an idea was born. The students, and me, are having fun playing guitar...I bring in my lefty guitar when a lefty student wants to be in the program. This will be the 2nd year of guitar playing and word of mouth has spread about how much fun it is learning how to play the guitar. I use the internet, DVDs, and books I have to help the students learn the basics.

If anyone has a working acoustic or electric guitar or amp they want to get rid of, contact me...student interest is high and I just have a couple of guitars for the students to learn on. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well, take care all you music lovers and may you never lose your pic...

Thats is a great intro Jim. We have a couple of lefties on our site. You should be able to pick up some cheap beaters on the net. One of our members picked up an Oscar Schmidt for 40 bucks recently.

I have a friend who is a retired teacher of 30 years. A couple of times a year he dresses up as a character from Lord of The Rings. Don't know if it's related. Just sayin.

Thanx everyone for the kind words...I'm blown away by the inter-action of this group.
I now know that I've joined one great group of people with a common thread...guitar music. Take care.
