thanks, hi, arp blues, moving between chords
hello everybody
i'm ian, an australian living in the (soon to be) frozen north of the us of a.
thanks to all for the enthusiasm and the information here. it's a great site, great resource.
i'm almost a total beginner with enough classical lessons to be dangerous! woo-hoo let's try a litle flamenco! a little blues! guiliani! (his allegro would make a great easy-ish lesson, i reckon)
i have had a lot of fun with the arpeggio blues. thanks Kirk for that.
have i reinvented the bleeding obvious: when moving from one chord structure to the next i have decided it's best to start moving fingers when you have finished with them, and often before all the chord has been used. does that make sense? rather than set up a chord simultaneously, kind of assemble it as (LH) fingers become available.
am i thinking way too much about this!??
anyone: suggestions for my next tackle? arp blues is about my level and i love the finger style.

You have it. Your always trying to think ahead to finger placement for chords or the next note. Sounds like your on the right track.

Hello Ian, welcome to the forum mate!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
