Just keep practising everyday Desman and who knows, one day you might be even better than Johnny Cash.

Welcome Desman! I am a fellow beginner (only about 3 weeks for me!! My calluses are just now to the point where I can practice all night without any pain!)

Johnny Cash, eh? Folsom Prison Blues style or his much more introspective stuff? He has a pretty huge catalogue of music to choose from!

Welcome desman3000

First: You've come to a great site for beginners. Lots of examples and information here.
Second: I've seen the movie "Walk the Line." I also like Johnny Cash.
Thirdly: I wish someone had told me how to be patient with myself as I was learning. One day I realized that if I am to get anywhere I had to stop fighting myself. I had to really think about treating myself as if I was my very best friend. Friends, like those on this site, are understanding and gentle. WE HAVE ALL STARTED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LADDER.

Shooting to be as good as Johnny Cash is a good goal. Have you thought about "shooting his hat off with your guitar playing as a backup goal?

Best of FUN as you learn
John

Hi Desman,
Welcome to the site, I'm sure you'll be playing like 'the man in black' in no time
An easy starter song for Johnny Cash is 'Walk the line'. Nice and easy and sounds quite cool too. Good luck and never quit!
