Hi tibbs. I think you will find that you will get all the answers you could ask for. The members here are one big friendly family focused on helping each other sharpen their playing skills.
The finger pain before developing calluses can be frustrating as well as getting your fingers to stretch. Practice takes care of that.

Hi tibbs,

You are in the same boat as me I think? Novice players, keep plugging away and I am sure we will both reap the benefits of practising regulary and this site looks very informative.

I wouldn't try to think of the guitar as being hard to learn (It can be), if we fear something new then we tend to give up quicker or not even try it at all. The initial part of learning takes a lot of optimism and enthusiasm to get good. Some it can take months to learn, others pick it up and are playing pretty good at a months time, some of those are on this site.

Welcome to the forum tibbs, glad to have you. Let the learning begin.
