Thanks 737blues, 6string, coldethyl, si16, guttertrashsingalong, lorispencer, Chaotic Kittie, allthumbs, johnmcp and randomaire. It's great to hear from you all.
Re: lorispencer I am into classical music, I know I still have to learn a lot before I can reach that level. Eagles is my favorite band and other bands I like to listen to is Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd. I love them all.
Re: allthumbs I got a 3/4 size acoustic guitar, I had my friend help me pick it up.

I have a question for all of you, from your personal experience what should I focus on for the first month, strumming, learning chords or so on.

It depends on where you want to start. Chords and strumming fit together well so that is a good place to start. Look at Nelsonites strumming lessons. Work through the basic mini lessons in the Read Me First thread on the main page. Kirk has lessons and a tune for beginners too.

Kirks' lessons are based around chords and chord progressions so you may want to spend some time learning how chords are made and how progressions work. learning the chromatic scale is also a good thing. It covers a lot of music theory when you dig into it. Just some ideas for you.
