Little Late I know
It was brought to my attention that I didn't even introduce myself properly, got so carried away on the forum, it totally slipped my mind.
Anyway, My name is Brian, I've been fiddling/playing/abusing guitars for the better part of 4 years now. Always wanted to play when I was younger, never had the money and such, but now I am doing what I always wanted to do.
My first guitar was a Fender Satin Strat.. decent guitar for me and it can take a beating, and lord knows I beat that thing (still have the plastic on the picguard and everything - 4 yrs now)
My other guitar is a Gibson Special Les Paul.. This is my baby for right now, and I do baby it, I don't play it much, because I'm worried I'll break it.. lol.
I put a couple of pictures of the two guitars up here, both electric, I need to buy an acoustic one of these days.
I like metal alot, but my weakness has always been fingerpicking and fingerstyle and I joined this forum with the hopes of getting to know more about music, theory, chord tones, and fingerstyle playing (Because it really sucks when you can play the chords to a Beatles song, but are totally clueless when it comes to the notes in between the chord strums) So with a little luck and some hard work, and a whole lot of patience, maybe I will be able to actually play fingerstyle to somewhat of a basic degree, that is my hope for right now. Maybe even learn a little about songwriting and mixing at the same time.
Sorry so long winded, just figured I'd make up for the fact that I didn't do this earlier.

Glad to have you aboard, Brian.
It's good to meet musicians from around the world. GFB & B is a great place to learn not only about music but people too. We're all one big musical family with a multitude of skill levels and we all live on the same floor.
By the way, those are a couple of nice rigs you got there. I'm a sucker for a red guitar!
Here's my Ruby, RubyToo and Rose.
Les

Welcome Brian, I like the used and battered film on the pickguard, you never know it may catch on.
Now when I talk to God he said he'd understand, Stick by me I'll be your guiding hand. But don't ask me what I think of you. I might not give the answer you want me to.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
