A wanna be newbee...but need a guitar to play

Well this is just gonna sound pitiful....but for the sake of my sweet daughter...i need to ask a question. I looked for the answer on the net...but I could find nothing that told me....so I am going to ask. What size is a regular guitar...a 38" or a 42". Nobody seems to be able to tell me....I don't think they know what size theirs is. So we someone out there please stop shaking their head and quit laughing long enough to give me an answer....remember it is for a very interested young girl (13).
Thanks..Mabratt44

OK, I stopped now. ..and measured one of my accoustics. It's 39"", and I think would be called a normal size . Jumbo and Dreadnought are two other sizes, but it would vary from brand to brand just what the measurments are, I think.
Either way, at 13 she should be able to use a full size guitar, I have heaps of students that age using that size.
I thought I had encountered every guiter question but this is a first, mabratt.

For the most part, she should be able to handle a standard dreadnaught. I'd suggest taking her to a music shop to see it she can comfortably handle it. If it seems to be too big for her, you can use classical guitars, or a 3/4 size body guitar (like my Ibanez) to fit her.

Guitar: 1) Behringer Stratocaster; Webstrings Memphis Electric Xlight strings; Dunlop Picks

2) Ibanez TCY-10 Talman Series; Elixir Light strings.

Ummm Ibanez... drool...

Anyway yeah I agree. The best idea would be to take her to a music shop to actually try the guitars out for herself!

Man... had too much to drink tonight!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
