Hi Morgan,
Tell us something about yourself. How long have you been playing guitar? What type of guitar? Style? etc....

Hi Morgan ...
Tell us about life in Bahrain. Is there a local music scene? Do guitars feature in your music as much as they do in western music?
It sure sounds exotic ...

Hi Morgan
Well, I know where Bahrain is on the map, but thats as close as I have ever been to it. I imagine that it is like a few other forward thinking countries in that area though, especially as far as music goes. I am sorry to hear about your "friend" not teaching you because you are a girl but that happens all over the world, not just there. I have two daughters, one is 12 and the other is 14, and this christmas they are both getting guitars because thats what they want (and because I tend to indulge them). The oldest one wants a bass guitar and the younger one wants a pink (!) Strat. If anybody tells them that they can't play because they are girls I am going to be putting foot to ass pretty quickly.
You just keep practicing, and don't EVER let anybody tell you that you cannot do something like that because you are a girl. I think you need to look at some of the female guitarists that were mentioned by somebody else. Bonnie Raitt takes a back seat to NOBODY when it comes to guitar, and oddly enough, Dolly Parton (the one with the fake hair and real chest) is a TREMENDOUS player.
You have a lot of role models to look up to, so you keep doing what you are doing and I wish you the best of luck.

Hi morgan. By the time your son is old enough to read, there will be hundreds of lessons for him here. I have no doubt he will be a star in 2020.
(Could I please ask you to respond to messages in the same thread as they are posted? You are starting new topics for your responses, and the conversations become impossible to follow. If you do want to start a new conversation (thread), that's when to use the New Topic option.
Thanks morgan.)

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
