Hi Kevin

Welcome to the forurm. I started out with a no-name acoustic that was apparently too high-strung (a bit like myself some may say............LOL). Anyway, recently got a Fender and the difference is so amazing................absolutley love it...........have named it Freddie (just like a girl eh?). Anyway..........good luck to you and hope you manage to mix with us cos seems an awful lot of people start posting and dont' come back (you'll see for yerself tho).

Apologies if I'm waffling on but had leftover champagne from my birthday on Sat.

Take care
Tracy

Welcome Kevin, I play acoustic too. Learn all the major chords and the major scales for the chords in the first position. (the first five frets) This link should help http://www.all-guitar-chords.com/guitar_scales.php?qqq=1&scch=C&scchnam=Major&get2= Get

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
