Hi Y'all
Just here to swap a howdy. Here I am, 40 years old, a grandma and I decided I would do something I have always wanted to do. Learn to play the guitar. It took me 3 hours but I taught myself how to pluck out "Jesus Loves Me" and 30 minutes to teach myself the first 8 notes of "Stairway to Heaven" but I did it...lessons start next week and have really been reading the forum. Thanks for the advice so far and look forward to getting to know people.

Hi there Catt
Great to hear from you & don't worry about your age..........I'll be the same next month (although, thankfully, I'm not a grandma yet....have told my eldest daughter there'd be big trouble if she put me in that situation while I was still such a young thang....... ) You're already doing brilliantly.
Good luck to you.

Welcome Catt. Yep, I am the big 40 next week....nothing wrong with that. And learning the guitar now will allow you to sing and play lullabyes for your little one....
The people here are wonderful and friendly and full of information to help you along. They are also a very encouraging bunch for those of us just starting out.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
