G'day Monty
Welcome aboard mate! It's great to have ya with us.
The best advice I can give you is to start from the beginning and take a tip or two from Kirk. Kirk has some excellent beginner lessons and so you can start by going here: True beginner? Here's a lesson for you!

Hi Monty
I hope everything is great there !!! Welcome to the Family, Pal !!! I would suggest you to do a few Chromatic exercises everyday, to improve your Fretting-Hand.
Thanks and Lots of Regards
Kush

Hi Monty. Time and practice cures most problems. There are lots of posts here about finger placement and going through changes smoothly.

Welcome Monty
Follow Kush' advise on the chromatic exercises and pose on chords if you want to work on fretting. And you can always ask specific questions on the "Playing The Guitar" forum

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
